What makes the Springfield 583 unique: Today, we’re pleased to showcase this historic piece that was originally manufactured by the Illinois Watch Company in 1923, the Springfield 583. This luxurious timepiece stands out with blued-steel gothic hands and dark, stylized numerals atop its beautifully aged dial. We love the way that this dial has been lightly worn away from years of use and exposure to oxygen and other elements. We brought even more sophistication to the original pocket watch by encasing it in our Machined Titanium case, and we equipped the watch with an exquisite knurled nickel crown. The back of our case features an exhibition-style back, enabling you to view the watch’s detailed and marvelous components. This movement is a 405-grade Autocrat movement with a nickel finish and pendant setting, with incredible copper inlaid text throughout. The watch also includes robust and stunning gold-plated gears and 17 opulent jewels throughout the bridge plates. Finally, we paired the watch with our comfortable, artisan-designed stone leather watch strap, which further emphasizes the watch’s antique style.
The Illinois Watch Company initially produced the pocket watch in Springfield, Illinois, in 1923. The world was on the brink of a new era of innovation and progress. This year marked the first successful flight of the iconic Spirit of St. Louis, piloted by Charles Lindbergh. His daring solo flight from New York to Paris captured the world's imagination and set the stage for a new era of aviation.
